Convex Grind for Smooth Cutting The wide 2.95" (75mm) blade removes wood fast, while the compact 2.4" (60mm) head and 1.18" (30mm) head thickness give you the mass and momentum for powerful, controlled cuts. The convex (lens) grind makes work easier in both soft and hard wood and keeps the blade from wedging in the material.
Premium 65G High-Carbon Steel A hollowing tool needs an edge that holds up under heavy loads. Made from 65G high-carbon steel, known for its strength, elasticity, and long-lasting cutting properties, this adze is hardened to 56-58 HRC (Rockwell). Zone hardening keeps the cutting edge resistant to heavy force when it meets knots or hard fibers.
Ash Handle and Leather Sheath Control starts with comfort. The 11.6" (295mm) tool is fitted with an ergonomic ash handle treated with a blend of linseed oil and wax, which protects the fibers from moisture and dirt and gives a secure, non-slip grip. The adze comes with a genuine cowhide leather sheath for safe storage and easy transport.
