This set is curated as a "Volume Management" system. In a real workshop workflow, the challenge is twofold: clearing massive amounts of waste quickly and then refining the interior walls where straight tools cannot reach. You begin with the 40mm Sculpture Gouge, using a mallet to establish the primary depth and clear the heavy center-mass. You then transition to the Rounded Bent Gouge, which provides the necessary shank clearance to hollow the transitions from wall to floor. Finally, the Hook Knife executes the circular slicing cuts needed to level the surface, leaving the iconic burnished finish that defines professional hand-carved vessels.

Sculpture Gouge Sweep #7, 40mm (Art. 160740): The heavy excavator. Designed for initial wood removal and clearing massive amounts of waste using a mallet. Its wide radius allows for fast leveling of the top surface and establishing the primary depth.
Rounded Bent Gouge Sweep #9, 20mm (Art. 119920): The deep-hollowing specialist. The bent shank provides the mechanical clearance needed to reach the bottom of kuksas and bowls where a straight tool would hit the rim, allowing for smooth transitions between the wall and floor.
Hook Knife 35mm (Art. 150035): The finishing engine. Optimized for the final cleaning of concave surfaces. Its curved blade allows for continuous slicing cuts that smooth out ridges and leave a professional, glass-like finish.
Premium Basswood Blank: A hand-selected, kiln-dried blank (Spoon or Kuksa) included to allow you to apply your new tools to a high-quality medium immediately.
